Hannah-Lisa Paul was born in Saarbrücken in 1996. After several stints as an intern, she studied at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne specialising in screenwriting and directing. Her social spots for Medica Mondiale and Unicef won international prizes, such as the New York Advertising Award (gold), the ADC (silver) and the Spotlight Werbefilmpreis (gold). Her spot "Kinoliebe" ran in cinemas nationwide as a pre-programme during the pandemic. The focus of her films is on feminist critical social spots, which are often very finely, subtly staged leaving one greatly impacted. The other constant is her work with children.
Since 2021 she has also worked as a producer for the Cologne production company eitelsonnenschein, most recently for the feature film "Der Pfau".
As a director, she debuted in 2021 with the series "Abgetaucht! Meine falschen Ferien" and is currently preparing her next children's series, "GONG", for KiKA.
