Zero Pilnik

Zero Pilnik (they/them) is an actor, writer and Drag King from São Paulo, based in Berlin. Their career spans a range of projects, from roles in television and film productions, to working in theaters such as Ballhaus Ost, Volksbühne, and Maxim Gorki.

As the 2021 resident at Goyki3 Art Inkubator, Zero wrote the pilot of "Brutes", a dystopian queer Western. The series was nominated for the Pretty Original Award at the 2023 Seriencamp Conference, where Zero pitched it live. That same year, they were a finalist of the Berlin TV Series Festival, pitching the dramedy "Silver Future", based on their experiences in Berlin's underground Drag scene.

Zero is a California Institute of the Arts graduate and has received fellowships from the Berlin Senate, Akademie der Künste, LABA Berlin, and the 2017 Tim Disney Prize. They recently participated in the Serial Eyes workshop for Diverse Storytelling in Digital Short Form Series and the Torino SeriesLab Talents program, pitching at the 74th Berlinale.

Currently, Zero is developing "Treif", a Brazilian series about their Jewish immigrant family, as well as their debut feature film.
