Western-prequel without demonic presence: For “Walker, Independence”, “Supernatural”-Star Jared Padalecki relies on female power and the “Yellowstone”-Effect.
It has now brought the reboot of the Chuck Norris classic "Walker: Texas Ranger" with Jared Padalecki ("Supernatural") to three seasons. Which on the one hand speaks for Padalecki's unbroken popularity and on the other hand for the current Western boom . So it's time to follow in the footsteps of the ratings hit "Yellowstone" and give the brand some historical grounding. Similar to "1883", here we go to the late 19th century, where apparently already the ancestors of Cordell Walker had to deal with the American West. Or rather: The Ancestor. At the center of "Walker: Independence" is namely Abby Walker (Katherine McNamara), whose husband was murdered before her eyes on the way to the West. Together with the swashbuckling Hoyt Rawlins (the thanks "Hatfields & McCoy" Western-experienced Matt Barr), she makes her way to the titular small town "Independence."
