Stress. Between cooking pots, haute cuisine and trauma, Christopher Storer ("Ramy") and Hiro Murai ("Atlanta") put us right in the middle of the grueling everyday life of a Chicago kitchen team.
The series, on which really everyone could agree in the US early summer of 2022, means two things above all for the viewer: the mass release of adrenaline and the continuous stimulation of the appetite. In just eight episodes, "Ramy" creator Christopher Storer takes us to a run-down diner kitchen whose owner (Jon Bernthal) has left his team in a disintegrated state after committing suicide. Taking over Küchenklitsche is his estranged brother Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), who has made his name in Michelin-starred kitchens around the world and is struggling with the demons of his past in addition to immense business pressures. The predominantly dramatic and incredibly entertaining result is a stress test for the viewer as well, who is permanently kept on the edge of their seats here. Especially towards the end of the season, where an episode staged in one-take can already be considered the gold standard for series culinary fans. Must-see? Yes, Chef!
