Two sisters and the consequences of their (early) careers: With “Selftape”, two popular Spanish actresses dare to take a fictionalized look at themselves.
It was a good ten years ago that Joana and Mireia Vilapuig were able to celebrate the beginning of a then promising acting career in real life as well: As a teenager in the yes, originally conceived in Spain series "Club of the Red B.nder", which - like now "Selftape" - was produced by the Spanish indie Filmax. From the fame of that time at first apparently not so much remained. At least that is suggested in "Selftape", in which the two sisters were significantly involved in the writing process too. Here they re not only trying to find themselves again as sisters, but also to find their feet in the Spanish film and series world as women in their mid-twenties. While real life also holds one or other dramatic challenges in store. In essence, then, "Selftape" is also the story of the "Generation Z" searching for its place, which in this case, however, does without the self-deprecating and humorous undertones that are otherwise readily employed in the genre. Instead, it relies entirely on the dramatic skills of its protagonists.
