The future doesn't mean well for offspring: to escape a life of poverty on the fringes of a dystopian society, outcast kids compete in a brutal reality show: A modern Battle Royale, whose main prize is adoption by a rich celebrity couple. 

Between "World on a Wire", "Hunger Games" and "Battle Royale": with "Batards", the two Swiss Malou Briand and Raphael Meyer show that they have understood the inhuman lessons of modern reality TV formats. Condensed into a wacky dystopian format, with a trashy "Power Rangers" look, the questions of the present flow into a satirical future.
