Did you miss the past seasons of SERIENCAMP? No problem! For the serial reboot in Cologne, we will bring you up to speed.

The TV season 2014/2015 must have been relatively dull. Otherwise, a few Munich TV series enthusiasts would not have come up with the idea of establishing Germany's largest "series couch" at the University of Television and Film (HFF) in Munich. The idea was to hold in public what one usually does alone or with friends on the home couch. The principle: Watch series and talk about them.

This was at a time when Sky or HBO were the pinnacle of television, and Netflix and Amazon were just entering the streaming market. In short, there were a lot of undiscovered series gems out there that still lacked a "home" in Germany. A model had to be found for giving them a forum. Preferably on the biggest possible screen and in the context of spectacular premieres that would provide ample opportunity for subsequent exchange with like-minded people: The SERIENCAMP.

Thanks to dedicated helpers and sponsors, Germany's first pure (and free!) series festival was able to start in the autumn of 2015 and attract over 5,000 visitors to Munich from the start. An opening that also shook up the local industry. Just one year later, and parallel to the development of internationally viable production structures, the SERIENCAMP CONFERENCE was added in 2016, which is becoming increasingly important internationally as a professional conference. With focus topics that were extended into the audience festival. And with production projects that were just beginning here.

Over almost ten years, SERIENCAMP has become one of the most important European series meeting points. With a total of almost 260 screenings, nearly 30,000 series fans, around 1,500 industry visitors, over 20,000 serial minutes, and numerous impressive premieres and award winners. And yet, there is still room for improvement. That is why Germany's largest series couch has now moved to Cologne. Are you ready for the binge of your life?
