Bringing together partners across multiple territories offers great opportunities, but also requires a clear and shared creative vision.

This DEEP DIVE explores the importance of creative alignment in European co-productions: how to balance different audience expectations, sharpen thematic focus and ensure that projects remain coherent as they grow in scale and complexity.

Using the series PHOENIX as a case study, the discussion looks at how alignment can be achieved in practice — from early development to execution. The discussion will also draw on GOLD, which was part of EWC/Boosting Impact: From Facts to Fiction and won the pitch award in Berlin earlier this year.

A particular focus is placed on the contribution of the European Writers Club, whose involvement highlights the growing importance of structured, writer-driven development in international projects.
