Frank Tönsmann

Since 2004 Frank Tönsmann works as Commissioning Editor for WDR. He worked on the acclaimed Series “In the Face of Crime”. Since 2012 he is responsible for the “Tatort Dortmund” series that still goes on in it’s 12th year. Furthermore he commissioned Feature Films like “Til the End of the Night” by Christoph Hochhäusler that had it’s premiere on the Berlinale in 2023. He is responsible for the FabFiction-initiative for international coproduction within ARD. The Belgian-Dutch-German coproduction “Arcadia” and the Norwegian-Canadian-German series “So Long, Marianne” are the most recent outputs of this collaboration.
