The excellent reputation of Israeli series has been almost faster than the broadcasting companies in their home country. Even before "The Hostages" was broadcast in Israel, the remake based on the material could already be seen in the USA. Someone was probably afraid of missing the next "Homeland" or "In Treatment". And rightly so, because at least the Israeli original, "Bnei Aruba," has not only captivated audiences but also critics in front of their screens and set a new standard for Israeli television. In France, it subsequently won prizes for best series and best leading actress at the prestigious Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo. The series centers on young mother and top surgeon Dr. Yael Danon (Wilson Fisk's love interest in "Daredevil," Ayelet Zurer), whose family is attacked and taken hostage by four masked men. The goal of the mysterious men: if her family is to stay alive, the doctor must literally jump the Israeli prime minister during a routine operation. In addition to the strong cast with the great Zurer and the pretty quickly pretty breathless tension another unbeatable argument for the Israeli series hit: Unlike the US remake, it has gone into serial extension.
A female surgeons (Ayelet Zurer) family is taken hostage in order to force her to kill the Israeli premier during a surgical procedure in this gripping nailbiter.
