The Bisexual

Cinema

„The Bisexual“ ran 2018 in the festival cinema program.

What to do when homosexuality and transgender no longer represent a borderline violation due to their multiserial reappraisal? You grab the last taboo with bisexuality and send your main character on a self-discovery trip through London. This is what happens in the case of Sundance winner Desiree Akhavan, who follows in the footsteps of Phoebe Waller-Bridge ("Fleabag") in "The Bisexual" and ends up with the neurotic author Gabe (Brian Gleeson) as part of a lesbian power couple that has just fallen apart. Prelude for the shameless and unsparing disclosure of outdated sexual concepts, at the end of which homo, hetero or bi (should) play only a subordinate role.

Exploring the differences between dating men and women from the perspective of a person, who finds herself doing both, Sundance-winner Desiree Akhavan takes us on a hilarious journey through London, tearing down what was left of the misconceptions concerning love, life and sexuality.
