Fiction Magnet GmbH is a joint venture between ZDF Studios and ndF neue deutsche Filmgesellschaft. The company, headquartered in Unterföhring, is led by ndF Managing Director Matthias Walther and focuses on the development and production of TV films and series for the German and international markets. Fiction Magnet has access to the entire production expertise of the ndF group as well as the expertise of ZDF Studios, and produces formats such as the highly successful primetime series "Die Bergretter" (15th season), "Der Bergdoktor" (17th season), the Saturday crime series "Das Quartett," the evening series "Hotel Mondial," and most recently, the ZDF two-part series "Herzstolpern."
ndF neue deutsche Filmgesellschaft, along with its subsidiaries and investments, covers a wide range of entertainment fields, from documentaries and true crime (Aktenzeichen XY... ungelöst) to shows, podcasts, feature films (e.g., "Mein Sohn," "Das schweigende Klassenzimmer"), animated films ("Die Olchis – Willkommen in Schmuddelfing"), and international co-productions ("Der Schwarm").
ZDF Studios, a privately-owned subsidiary of ZDF, operates in the areas of production, distribution, and services through its more than 30 direct and indirect subsidiaries and investment companies in Germany, the Netherlands, and Great Britain.
