Stefanie Ren, born in Taiwan in 1987, studied Screenwriting/Series-Producing at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. After graduating, she worked as head writer on the RTL sitcom “Nicht tot zu kriegen”, which was nominated for the German Comedy Award in 2017. Her first feature film, “Cleo”, premiered at Berlinale in 2019, where it opened the Generation Kplus section. Her Netflix film “For Jojo” opened the “New German TV Productions” section at Munich Film Festival 2022. In 2023, her Paramount+ series “A Thin Line”, on which she again served as head writer, premiered at the Séries Mania Festival in Lille. “House of Yang”, a mystery series for which she serves as creator, showrunner, and sole writer, premiered at the 2026 Berlin International Filmfestival in the Special Series section. The series is also featured in the Spotlight Female Voices program at Seriencamp Festival and has been nominated for the festival’s Critics’ Choice Award.
