Najima El Moussaoui

Najima El Moussaoui is a journalist and moderator working at the intersection of media, society and culture. She began her career with a journalistic traineeship at the German news channel ntv and has since worked across German television and public media, including as an editor for ntv and Deutsche Welle and as a writer for WDR.

With an academic background in sociology, her work explores social diversity, power relations and the ways in which diversity is represented and negotiated in the media. She is a former board member of Neue deutsche Medienmacher*innen e.V. and serves on the selection committee for the CIVIS Media Prize and on the jury of the German Human Rights Film Award (Deutschen Menschenrechts-Filmpreis).

Najima also gives workshops on right-wing populist narratives, diversity and storytelling, and develops film projects dealing with social and political issues.
