Moonage Pictures was founded by Will Gould, Matthew Read and Frith Tiplady in 2018 with the aim to create and produce original, unconventional, and inventive television and film for both the UK and international markets. Most recently Moonage produced the hit eight-part Guy Ritchie series for Netflix, The Gentlemen, set in the world of his movie with the same name, starring Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Giancarlo Esposito, Ray Winstone and Vinnie Jones. Recent productions also include the Stephen Graham starring adaptation of the graphic novel Bodies, which topped the Netflix global charts, and Emily Mortimer’s critically acclaimed adaptation of Nancy Mitford’s The Pursuit of Love for BBC One and Amazon. Upcoming titles include The Leopard for Netflix Italy (in partnership with Indiana Production), A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder, starring Emma Myers and further adventures for The Famous Five for the BBC.
Before setting up the company, Matthew worked as a Commissioning Editor at the BBC for 10 years. His credits included Last Tango In Halifax, Peaky Blinders, Doctor Foster, Happy Valley, Taboo and McMafia. He wrote the screenplays for Pusher and Hammer of the Gods and executive produced Only God Forgives and The Neon Demon. Matthew also created and wrote Moonage’s first 8-part series Curfew, which aired on Sky One in February 2019.
