Marc Lepetit

Producer

After studying at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg, Marc Lepetit began working as a producer at Phoenix Film in Berlin in 2003, where he oversaw series, feature films, various business development initiatives, and new media topics.

In 2009, KILL YOUR DARLING became Germany’s first major transmedia project. He was involved as a producer in TEUFELSKICKER, the first project of UFA Cinema. Since 2012, he has worked as a producer for UFA Fiction, overseeing, among others, the award-winning KU’DAMM event series, as well as feature films from the FRÜHLING, DONNA LEON, and CHARLOTTE LINK series. Marc Lepetit has been responsible for projects such as DER FALL HARRY WÖRZ, TOD EINER KADETTIN, LETZTE AUSFAHRT GERA – ACHT STUNDEN MIT BEATE ZSCHÄPE, HANNELORE KOHL – DIE ERSTE FRAU, DIE UNGEWOLLTEN – DIE IRRFAHRT DER ST. LOUIS, and DER GROSSE FAKE – DIE WIRECARD STORY. He also initiated various new media projects, including collaborations with Axel Springer Verlag such as BEHIND THE STORY, various VR cases, and GLAUB AN DICH – DIE JOSHUA KIMMICH STORY.

In winter 2021, the musical KU’DAMM 56, which he initiated in collaboration between BMG and UFA Fiction, premiered at the Stage Theater des Westens and received multiple awards.

In 2021, he was appointed Managing Director of the newly founded label UFA Documentary for four years. As co-managing director and producer, he was responsible for acclaimed documentary series such as LEGENDEN: ROSENSTOLZ, BORIS HERRMANN – DIE GANZE WELT DES SEGELNS, AON – DIE NATIONALMANNSCHAFT IN KATAR, and the award-winning productions EXPEDITION ARKTIS 2 – TAUCHFAHRT AM NORDPOL and ICH BIN! MARGOT FRIEDLÄNDER, as well as RONCALLI – MANEGE DER MACHT. For ICH BIN! MARGOT FRIEDLÄNDER, he received the German Television Award in 2024.

In 2025, Marc Lepetit returned to UFA Fiction as a producer. There, he is producing, among other things, the continuation of the KU'DAMM series and will be more involved in the Bertelsmann Content Alliance for UFA GmbH. 

Since 2009, Marc Lepetit has also been a lecturer in “Digital Storytelling” at the Zurich University of the Arts, teaches at various other European media schools, and has been a guest on numerous panels on digital storytelling, documentaries, and cross-media collaborations. Together with acclaimed actress Natalia Wörner, he co-initiated the campaign #sicherheim, which brought the issue of domestic violence into national focus in Germany in 2020 and was awarded the German Sustainability Award.
