Kai Kreuser is a Grimme Award-nominated director and screenwriter from NRW. In 2018, he completed his directing studies at the International Film School Cologne with his multi-award-winning queer drama LABEL ME. The film won the Max Ophüls Preis 2019, premiered at Outfest LA - the largest queer film festival in the world - and was nominated for both the Studio Hamburg Nachwuchspreis and the First Steps Award. His online series KUNTERGRAU (2015-2020) is one of the most popular queer fictional formats in Germany with over 12 million views worldwide, subtitles in 16 languages, a Webvideopreis, the Engagementpreis NRW and a nomination for the Grimme Award. Other projects include his work as a screenwriter for the ZDF/funk series DRUCK. Currently he is writing a feature-length film commissioned by SWR.
