Janaina

Janaína Keintzel, who holds a degree in Media Economics, has been working in television for more than 15 years. She began her career with an internship at RTL before joining UFA Serial Drama, where she spent several years in production on daily fictional drama formats for RTL. During this period, she developed a thorough understanding of the dramaturgical demands and possibilities of long-running series. She subsequently helped build up the first season of a daily drama series at Sat.1.

Since 2024, she has been a commissioning editor at MDR, where she is responsible for the ARD series „In aller Freundschaft - Die jungen Ärzte" and the ARD crime series „Wolfsland". Her editorial focus lies on story development, ensemble dramaturgy and the cross-platform curation of her formats. In a high-volume long-running series, she regards it as a particular task to keep the series continuously fresh, driven by a personal commitment to opening space, together with the writers, for stories in which diverse lived realities find their place quietly and as part of the characters' everyday lives. She pursues this same commitment in her own story development work, which has already given rise to two produced short films.
