Ivar Køhn

Ivar Køhn became CEO of Rubicon TV, part of Banijay Nordic since May 2022, leading one of Norway’s foremost scripted production companies with a slate of highly creative, internationally recognised drama with titles like Still Breathing and Billionaire’s Island.

Prior to joining Rubicon, Køhn spent nearly a decade as Head of Drama at Norwegian public broadcaster NRK (2013–2022), where he oversaw a critically acclaimed portfolio of series. Under his leadership, NRK significantly strengthened its reputation for bold, high-quality drama with global appeal.

Køhn brings extensive experience across the Nordic film and television landscape. He previously led the Development and Production Department at the Norwegian Film Institute (NFI), and held roles as TV Drama & Film Commissioner at the Norwegian Film Fund, Co-owner and Producer at Maipo Film, and Head of Development at Swedish Television Drama. He has also served as Chairman of the Board at the Nordic Film & TV Fund.

In addition to his executive leadership, Køhn is an accomplished creative, having written and created several television drama productions.

At Rubicon, he works closely with acclaimed creators Anne Bjørnstad and Eilif Skodvin to further strengthen the company’s pipeline of premium original content for both local and international audiences.
