Bijan Benjamin

Bijan Benjamin is a German-Iranian filmmaker, screenwriter and acting coach based in Cologne. He studied directing at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM) and gained recognition with award-winning films such as Zelle, Sayarah – 4 Taxis and Murat B. – Verloren in Deutschland, screened at numerous international festivals.
Alongside his work as a director and writer, he has taught directing, camera acting and screen performance internationally for many years. His work combines auteur cinema, socially engaged storytelling and contemporary acting practice.
Bijan is also active in diversity initiatives and AI-supported creative development for film and television. He serves on the board of the Muslim German Film Association (MDFV), advocating for stronger post-migrant representation in the media industry.
