Beate Bramstedt completed her master's degree in German studies, political science, and journalism at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz in 1992. From 1992 to 1994, she undertook a combined traineeship to become a fiction editor at ZDF. She then worked in various departments at ZDF: After starting in the fiction-focused department "Unterhaltung - Wort," she took over the management of the “central editorial office” in the “Children's & Youth Department” in 2003, where she was responsible for program support and promotion.
In 2012, she returned to fiction and has since overseen projects in the non-crime genre in the “Television Film and Series II Department”. Her portfolio includes TV drama films and event films such as Eine wie diese and KATI - Eine Kür, die bleibt, comedies like Mutter kündigt and Immer der Nase nach, event series such as Bella Germania and the Ku’damm series, the neo-drama series KRANK BERLIN, as well as the quickly produced instant fiction Becoming Charlie. Beate Bramstedt is married and has two children.
