Anna Äärelä

Anna Äärelä is a Finnish writer-director, who holds a Master’s of Arts degree from Aalto University. She started her career as a photographer, after which she has written and directed multiple short films, including “Mad from the Sun” that won the Next Nordic Generation prize at Norwegian International Film Festival Haugesund. Äärelä has written two Finnish novels published by Kosmos. “The Crashing” is her first miniseries, which she is the sole creator, writer and director of.
