Anke Greifeneder, VP Local Original Production GSA & France at Warner Bros. Discovery, oversees the development and production of local original content for HBO Max across German-speaking Europe and France.
After previously working as a Channel Manager at Viacom, she joined Turner (now Warner Bros. Discovery) in 2007 as Head of Programming. Since 2011, she has been responsible as Vice President for the company’s Original Productions — initially for its Warner TV channels, now for HBO Max in German-speaking Europe, and since 2026 additionally for HBO Max in France. The fiction productions developed under her leadership, such as “4 Blocks”, have received numerous awards, including multiple German Television Awards, Grimme Awards, and Bavarian Television Awards (Blauer Panther). In 2020, Greifeneder became the first representative of the pay-TV sector to receive the Hans Abich Award.
Greifeneder studied law and, alongside her career in the media industry, has also been a successful author of novels as well as children’s and young adult books since 2002.
