Richard Acton
Head of Content Partnerships for Scripted

Richard Acton is Head of Content Partnerships for Scripted at BBC Studios, where he leads the funding and acquisition of scripted projects from both BBC Studios’ part-owned labels and third-party producers. He works closely with teams across the business to maximise the value of these projects through BBC Studios’ global distribution network.
Richard has worked on a wide range of successful titles, including Ghosts, The Outlaws, The Cleaner, Gavin & Stacey and Twenty Twenty Six. Alongside The Reluctant Vampire, his forthcoming slate includes new BBC commissions such as ‘Ann Droid’, Push and Better Later, as well as returning series of Doctor Foster, Death in Paradise, The Chelsea Detective, Am I Being Unreasonable? and the upcoming feature film Ghosts: The Possession of Button House.
Prior to joining the Scripted team, Richard held several roles within BBC Studios, spanning content sales, UKTV, and acquisitions for BBC Studios’ branded services, including BBC Select in the US.
