Marianne Wendt is a Berlin based creator, headwriter and showrunner for film/TV. She holds a professorship for screenplay at the Film University Babelsberg and works as a lecturer in the "European Showrunning program" at the ifs Cologne.
Marianne worked as creator/showrunner on the 8-part drama series NEW HEIGHTS / NEUMATT (8x45 min, 3 seasons, Zodiac pictures) for SRF/Netflix, which was shown at Seriesmania 2021 at forum exclusive and premiered in Zürich Film Festival 2021. Season 2 premiered at 58. Solothurner Filmfestival and Season 3 was nominated for the “swiss storytelling award 2024”.
Her latest drama series WER WIR SIND / TODAY FOR TOMORROW (co-creator: Christian Schiller, 6x45 min, Viafilm / MDR, NDR, Degeto) was presented at Seriesmania 2023 in “Coming next from Germany” and premiered in November 2023.
The drama series EDEN (6x45 min, SWR/Arte France, created by Edward Berger, Nele Müller-Stoefen, Marianne Wendt) premiered in the official competition of Series Mania in Lille 2019 and won the Grimme Preis 2020 and the Premio Ondas International TV Award 2019.
