Lia Zebra

Lia Zebra is a graduate of HFF Munich, where she trained as a screenwriter but graduated straight into life as a creator. Before attending HFF, she studied German literature and media studies in Regensburg. Together with her co-writer, co-creator, and favorite mermaid Larissa Dold, she won the RTL+ Storytellers competition in 2024 with the series “Mermaids to Lovers” (working title: “Schwanzlos”). The show explores competitive sports, mermaiding, and first love. Following its glittering premiere at Seriencamp, the format—directed by Olga Alexandra Müller and produced by Warner Brothers ITV—is soon available on RTL+.

Lia has no interest in being boxed into a single genre. While she develops a lot of comedic material, including a fantastical comedy series, she is also working on a new YA romance, several thriller projects, and more.
