Katharina Weser was born in Augsburg in 1988. After studying Journalism and Film History in Germany and France, she participated in programs such as Atelier Ludwigsburg-Paris, Documentary Campus, and Berlinale Talents. In 2016, she co-founded Reynard Films in Leipzig with Georg Neubert. The company specializes in international co-productions of arthouse films, VR projects, and games. Her works have been shown at festivals including Karlovy Vary, SXSW, and the Venice Biennale, receiving numerous awards. In 2023, Weser and Neubert founded Yaga Studio – a creative home for people working between art and code.
