Hüseyin Tabak

In 2012, following his documentary "Kick Off", Hüseyin Tabak made his first feature film "Deine Schönheit ist nicht wert", which won the Austrian Film Award in four categories, including Best Film and Best Director. His second feature film, the children's film " Das Pferd auf dem Balkon", won the main prize at the Chicago International Children's Film Festival. In 2017, his documentary " Die Legende vom hässlichen König" premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and won the prize for Best Documentary at the Hof Film Festival. His third feature film "Gipsy Queen" was awarded at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and was released in cinemas in 2019. 2022 premiered "Der Dorn", an episode of the anthology series "Strafe" based on Ferdinand von Schirach, at Cannes Series. His fourth feature film "Oskars Kleid" was released in December 2022 and reached more than 600,000 viewers in German cinemas. In November 2023, "Oskars Kleid" won the Bambi Media Award in the National Film category. In 2018, he founded epikfilm in NRW together with Mehmet Aktas and produces since then socially relevant, compelling film and serial content, primarily by young, talented filmmakers.
