Hana was born and raised in London, England. After completing her bachelor’s degree in economics at the University of Bristol, Hana decided to focus on film and studied for a master's degree in directing at the International Film School Paris (EICAR). This was followed by a move to Germany and various jobs in the film and TV industry as well as participation in the TorinoFilmLab, Berlinale Talents and IFS International Producing Programme.
From 2015 to 2019, Hana was executive producer on over 250 episodes of the weekly ard series Lindenstraße before founding her production company Geißendörfer Pictures (GP). GP's first series production was the 8-part mystery drama SOULS for Sky, which won Best Screenplay and Best Music at Cannes Series. In 2024, Hana won the Silver German Film Award for Best Film with the fox. The 8-part comedy series Alphamännchen for Netflix is currently in post-production.
