Graeme Phillipson currently works in BBC Research and Development in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) area, specifically on the Computer Vision team. This project is investigating how BBC can use techniques from AI, machine learning, and computer vision to tackle some of the problems found in television production and journalism. Recently the focus has been on very low cost Virtual Production, other projects include using Novel View Synthesis for creative shots, and the creation and evaluation of automated camera farming and vision mixing. Prior to working at the BBC, he studied neuroscience at Edinburgh University, and worked on a 3D motion capture system used in clinical gait analysis.
