Friederike Kärcher is Head of the Division for Creative Industries at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), promoting training and income opportunities for creative entrepreneurs in the Global South. Friederike has worked for BMZ for more than fifteen years and specializes in bringing innovative topics to the toolbox of development cooperation. Prior to joining BMZ, she worked for various international organizations (i.a. UNESCO, WTO and UNCTAD) and completed field stays in Rwanda and Nepal. Friederike holds a Master degree in North American Studies, Political Science and Art History from the Free University Berlin.
