Director and screenwriter Elsa van Damke was born in Berlin in 1994. She studied directing at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences and graduated with "OH SH*T!" (2020) which achieved great international success. She completed her directing internship at the world-famous Studio Babelsberg. She'd then go to the Hamburg Media School to shoot three short films of which "HOW TO BURY A FISH/LANG LEBE DER FISCHFRIEDHOF" (2023) turned into her award-winning graduation film for her master's degree in directing. After winning the RTL+ Storyteller competition, she realized an autobiographical tv show project in 2024 - "SUPERMAD/ANGEMESSEN ANGRY" won her two Grimme Awards and the Televisionale Award for Best TV Show in the main competition.
