After breaking new ground digitally last year, we returned hybrid in 2021: On November 12 & 13, we presented exclusive world and German premieres on the big screen at the Astor Film Lounge at the Arri in Munich. Among them were the world premieres of the ServusTV production AUS DIE MAUS in the presence of actresses* Maria Furtwängler, Nina Proll and Ralf Bauer or the first episodes of the 2nd season of the ZDFneo co-production SLØBORN with Lea van Acken on location in Munich. Other highlights were the exclusive and free series screenings of DIE WESPE from Sky Deutschland, the true crime drama series DOPESICK from Disney+ or DER BEISCHLÄFER 2 from Amazon Prime Video. In addition to the screenings, there was also, among other things, an exciting panel discussion with series experts such as Patrick Heidmann (film critic, including Spiegel, Zeit), Hanna Huge (Serienjunkies), Daniel Schröckert (Rocket Beans) and Emily Thomey (Glotz und Gloria: Der Serienpodcast).
In addition, we presented outstanding international as well as national series in the Seriencamp WATCHROOM, the free and digital streaming platform. WATCHROOM featured over 60 series from more than 27 countries and was online from November 11 to 28. In addition to brand new German series such as DIE IBIZA AFFÄRE or SUNSHINE EYES, the 2021 program also featured American highlights such as the legendary murder puppet CHUCKY or CHAPELWAITE by Stephen King. However, Seriencamp WATCHROOM not only featured brand new series material, but also already well-known audience favorites such as multiple Emmy winner SUCCESSION (season 3) as well as the return of serial killer Dexter, whose first episodes of the ninth season aka DEXTER: NEW BLOOD will be shown exclusively in the second half of the Seriencamp WATCHROOM period.
