REGULATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Project must be submitted by production companies or distribution companies. Submissions by individuals are NOT eligible.
  • Submissions are limited to three projects per company - but only one project can be selected
  • Only fictional series are accepted - submissions for children’s series and animations can not be considered. Documentary series can be submitted to the Docu-Series Pitch
  • All genres (drama, dramedy, thriller, science fiction, period drama, crime, comedy, coming of age etc.) and formats (miniseries, procedurals, mixed media projects, etc.) are eligible.
  • Project must have a minimum of four episodes. Minimum length of 20 minutes per episode.
  • Project wasn’t presented at another market or festival before (training programs and incubators are exempted from this rule)
  • Project must be presented in English language

Please submit your project containing:

  • overview of key facts with title / genre / country of origin / financing status (costs per episode and information about confirmed amounts, etc.) 
  • PDF of series bible (pilot treatment, characters, story arc of first season, biography, visuals, author’s/producer’s note)
  • (if applicable) PDF of pilot script OR pilot script sample
  • Submission materials may also be in German, but must be translated into English if accepted.

FAQ

Who is eligible?
Production companies who are originators and/or owners of the intellectual property they present or production companies who have secured rights for an adaptation.

The project has a financing plan and part of the project’s budget is secured in advance via one of the production partners and/or attached broadcasters. 

What kind of projects are eligible? 
Projects that have not been part of previous international co-production forums and have not been pitched at festivals or markets. Exempted are projects that have pitched as part of an incubator and/or training program. 

How are co-production projects selected? 
Projects will be selected by the SERIENCAMP CONFERENCE industry experts supported by members of our international advisory board. 

What happens if one of my projects is picked for the pitch?
You will present your pitch live on stage in Cologne on June 14th or 15th. Additionally it will be featured online in our digital platform Pitchpool where it will be visible to registered professionals.

How long must my pitch be?
Maximum length of the pitch is eight minutes.

In which language do I have to pitch?
Pitching language is English. 

What costs will be covered by the festival?
You and up to one writing/producing partner will get free accreditations for SERIENCAMP CONFERENCE. Additional members of the projects can purchase discounted accreditations. A travel subsidy can be granted to selected projects - please inquire for details. 

How much does the submission cost?
All submissions are free of charge.
